SIERRA BOGGESS is an internationally acclaimed Broadway star whose captivating performances have made her one of musical theatre’s most beloved leading ladies.
On Broadway, she has starred in Barry Manilow’s celebrated Harmony, the Tony Award–nominated School of Rock, It Shoulda Been You directed by David Hyde Pierce, and two unforgettable engagements in Phantom of the Opera—including the production’s historic 25th Anniversary performance and a celebrated return opposite Norm Lewis. Her Broadway credits also include the revival of Master Class alongside Tyne Daly and originating the iconic role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, for which she received Drama Desk and Drama League nominations and won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award.
Her London credits include Les Misérables, Love Never Dies—which earned her an Olivier Award nomination—and the legendary 25th Anniversary Concert of Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall. Her portrayal of Christine Daaé in the globally broadcast concert event has become one of the most celebrated performances in the history of the musical, introducing her artistry to millions of viewers worldwide and securing her place as one of the definitive interpreters of the role.
Her distinguished New York theatre credits include Monte Cristo, Prosperous Fools, The Good-bye Girl, the Off-Broadway premiere of Harmony, Manhattan Concert Productions’ The Secret Garden at Lincoln Center, the star-studded one-night-only concert of Guys & Dolls at Carnegie Hall opposite Nathan Lane, Patrick Wilson and Megan Mullally, the final Off-Broadway cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, and Music in the Air for City Center’s Encores! series.
Beyond New York, Sierra has brought her celebrated performances to some of the country’s most prestigious stages, appearing in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (Goodman Theatre), The Secret Garden (CTG), A Little Night Music (BSC), Into the Woods (Hollywood Bowl), Ever After (Alliance Theatre), the world premieres of The Age of Innocence (Hartford Stage and McCarter Theatre), as well as the national tour of Les Misérables. She also starred as Christine Daaé in the Las Vegas production of Phantom of the Opera.
Her screen credits include Vulture Club opposite Susan Sarandon and the web series What’s Your Emergency, directed by Michael Urie.
Sierra’s voice has been preserved on an impressive collection of cast albums and recordings, including her solo album Awakening: Live at 54 Below, John Wilson’s complete studio recordings of Guys & Dolls, Carousel and Oklahoma!, as well as Harmony, School of Rock, It Shoulda Been You, the 25th Anniversary Concert recording of Phantom of the Opera, the symphonic recording of Love Never Dies, The Little Mermaid, and Andrew Lippa’s A Little Princess. During the pandemic she reunited with longtime friend and collaborator Julian Ovenden to record the duet album Together at a Distance, a testament to the enduring power of music and connection.
