The Phantom of the Opera Announces First-Ever Spanish Tour

‍‍Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera will conclude its acclaimed run in Madrid on Sunday, April 20, bidding farewell to the UMusic Hotel Teatro Albéniz. After two seasons of critical and public success, the production will embark on its first-ever tour of Spain. This marks a major milestone for the iconic musical, which has already captivated over 300,000 spectators in the Spanish capital. LetsGo has announced the first stops of this much-anticipated tour, giving audiences across Spain the chance to experience one of the most successful musicals in theatre history.

‍The Phantom of the Opera is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular musicals of all time, having been seen by over 160 million people in 195 cities and 21 languages. Directed by Federico Bellone and musically directed by Julio Awad (winner of the 2024 Talía Award for this production), the Spanish tour continues the legacy of this timeless masterpiece.Since its world premiere at London’s Her Majesty’s Theatre on October 9, 1986, and its Broadway debut at the Majestic Theatre on January 26, 1988, The Phantom of the Opera has won more than 70 major theatre awards. On January 9, 2006, it became the longest-running show in Broadway history, surpassing Cats with 7,486 performances.This Spanish-language production features Silvia Montesinos as resident director and lyric translation by Montesinos.
