Phantom of the Opera Opens the Olivier Awards 2026 with a Special Performance

Last night’s Olivier Awards marked a truly special celebration of theatre, as the ceremony celebrated its 50th anniversary with an evening filled with unforgettable performances, iconic moments and well‑deserved recognition.

The ceremony opened in spectacular style with Phantom of the Opera in celebration of its 40th year. Beginning on the stairs outside the Royal Albert Hall with an iconic performance of Masquerade before moving inside, the performance included a surprise appearance from Andrew Lloyd Webber, playing the organ in an unforgettable cameo.
