The prestigious Sofitel London St James is set to unveil what promises to be one of London's most captivating culinary experiences this September, with a limited-edition Afternoon Tea, elegantly crafted in three distinctive 'acts' that pay tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber's beloved musical The Phantom Of the Opera.
Inspired by the gothic romance and dramatic contrasts at the heart of one of the world’s most beloved musicals - light and shadow, illusion and reality - this decadent experience has been masterfully designed by pastry chef Lerrick Coelho.
The afternoon tea has been split into three ‘acts’, throughout each course, delicate flavours and the lightest ingredients collide with rich, spices and complex textures. Traditional treats such as warm scones will still take centre stage, but Coelho has created a chorus of indulgent flavours that encapsulate the mystery, passion and indulgence of the haunting love story.
Marie-Paule Nowlis, General Manager of Sofitel St James commented:
“We are so proud to launch such an iconic afternoon tea experience, created in close collaboration with LW Entertainment and brought to life through the artistry of Lerrick Coelho. There is a beautiful synergy between Sofitel as a French brand, and the timeless story set in the Palais Garnier in Paris, and we are confident this collaboration will resonate deeply with our guests.”
